Security System Health Check

Find out whether your cameras are recording, your footage is being retained, and your doors are responding as expected, before an incident puts them to the test.

Why it matters

Most system failures are discovered after an incident

A camera can show as online and still not be recording. Footage can be overwritten days before anyone asks for it. A door can report as locked while its schedule leaves it open after hours. These gaps rarely announce themselves.

The Security System Health Check gives you a clear, documented picture of how your video surveillance and access control systems are actually performing across every site, and what to address first.

  • OnlineIs every device connected and reporting?
  • RecordingIs video being captured as expected?
  • RetainedIs footage kept as long as your policy requires?
  • RespondingDo doors, readers, and alerts behave as intended?

Frequently asked questions

What is a Security System Health Check?

It is a structured review of your existing video surveillance and access control systems. We verify that devices are online, recording, retaining footage, and responding as expected, then deliver a findings summary with prioritized recommendations.

Do you review systems that Blue Iron Sentinel did not install?

Yes. Most Health Checks are for systems installed by another provider or inherited through an acquisition or property transition.

Will we have to replace our system?

Not necessarily. The goal is to show what is working, what is at risk, and what to fix first. Many findings are configuration, retention, or maintenance issues rather than replacements.

Who is the Health Check for?

Commercial organizations with one or more sites, including retail, event management, law enforcement, oil and gas, multi-family, self-storage, and fitness club operators. Blue Iron Sentinel does not serve residential homeowners.

What happens after the Health Check?

You keep the findings and recommendations. If it makes sense, we can resolve the issues and keep the system healthy with Sentinel Managed Services.
